Announcement: DSCS9X and DSCS95 Retirement

Our recommended Xibo for Android media players have retired

For many years, the DSCS9X and DSCS95 have been our recommended Xibo for Android media players, trusted by valued customers for their performance and reliability.

But as with all hardware, where the natural production lifecycle eventually comes to an end, it is now time for the DSCS95 and DSCS9X to be retired. Stock for these devices has now run out and they can no longer be purchased on the Xibo website.

What this means for you

The DSCS95 and DSCS9X continue to be excellent media players and, should you have one of these devices, it will be suitable to run our current Xibo for Android Player application. Our support team will still be able to provide support for Xibo for Android on both devices as normal, and both devices will continue to be compatible with Xibo for Android version 4 and with version 5 (when it's released in 2026). We will of course continue to honour the original manufacturer warranty, and extended warranties on these devices where applicable.

Future Xibo recommended hardware

With the retirement of the DSDevices media players, Xibo has made the decision to stop selling hardware as a product and instead focus our efforts on building strong partnerships with a wide variety of OEMs and hardware providers. This shift allows us to provide customers with more choice, flexibility, and confidence when selecting hardware that is fully optimised for Xibo.

While we will no longer be selling the DSCS95 and DSCS9X, we will continue to collaborate with DSDevices and recommend their devices as trusted, high-quality solutions within our partner ecosystem. Alongside DSDevices, we’re proud to already be working with some of the world’s leading technology brands, including Sony, ChromeOS, Philips, and Hisense, who offer powerful, reliable solutions ready to run Xibo out of the box.

Looking ahead, we will continue to grow our ecosystem of supported devices and deepen our partnerships with industry leaders, ensuring that Xibo remains accessible, versatile, and future-ready across a broad range of hardware options.
