Announcing the DSCS9X

The recommended Xibo for Android media player is getting an upgrade!

Xibo has recommended and sold the DSCS9 from DSDevices for several years now, and with the sunset of the S912X chip, used by the DSCS9, the time has come to welcome a new Xibo for Android media player, the DSCS9X.

The improved DSCS9X shares the same form factor as the DSCS9 and visually looks identical, but it has an upgraded Amlogic S922X platform at its heart. What does this mean? Well, a faster processor, more RAM and better graphics performance are just the start of the improvements!

The DSCS9X also has an updated version of Xibo for Android. It has all the features you've come to expect from a DSDevices unit - including CEC control of a compatible attached TV, metal housing and support for screen rotation.

We have a large customer base using DSCS9 Players and it's still a device we actively use to develop and test Xibo for Android on. If you have a DSCS9, rest assured that it will still be supported and will continue to be a recommended device!

Pre-orders of the DSCS9X start today. We estimate units shipping from the UK will begin dispatch on Tuesday 23rd August and units shipping from The Netherlands will begin shipping on Friday 26th August.
