Announcing Xibo v4
Simple, Intuitive, Impactful and Secure, Xibo v4 is here!
For more than nineteen years, we have been enhancing our solutions based on the needs of our users and customers. We are pleased to announce the launch of our latest version, Xibo v4.
Our codename for version 4.0 is Westphal.
20D/Westphal 3 was a periodic comet with an orbital period of 61 years. It fits the classical definition of a Halley-type comet with (20 years < period < 200 years). It was originally discovered by the German astronomer J. G. Westphal on July 24, 1852.
Xibo v4 focuses on 5 key areas and is the culmination of over 12 months of feedback, development, documentation and testing.
This release includes new versions of the CMS, Windows Player and Android Player.
Installation and upgrade
Installation/Upgrade instructions can be found here.
Please note that the minimum version of PHP needed to run the CMS is PHP 8.1.
Before starting your upgrade, please take a note of any API keys in your module settings (for example OpenWeatherMap, Alpha Vantage). After upgrade you will need these to configure the relevent Connector (Applications -> Connectors).
We recommend using player software of the same version as your CMS. Earlier versions of the player will connect to a v4 CMS in legacy mode, unless noted otherwise.
