It is easy to keep your Xibo network up to date when you have a plan.
Each new CMS supports older players, so you should plan to upgrade your CMS first, followed by your players. We recommend running with matching major versions (i.e. v4 CMS and v4 players).
Patch releases are automatically applied for you so that you are always up to date.
CMS
Your CMS can be upgraded from My Account. If an upgrade is available you will see an icon against your plan or cloud instance.
Upgrading is as simple as clicking on the upgrade icon and choosing the version to upgrade to.
If you want to go up multiple major releases (for example 2.3 to 4.0, click through the upgrade option several times).
Player
Your plan comes with evergreen player licences, so all you need to do is upgrade your player by following the upgrade documentation here.
Legacy cloud with perpetual licences
Your perpetual licences may need upgrading when you upgrade your player software. The versions you have can be found in My Account.
Find out more about player licensing here.
Self Hosted
If you’re running the Xibo CMS on your own infrastructure use the guides below to install or upgrade your CMS and players.
When running a self hosted network you have to choose where and how to install the CMS, and purchase any player licences that you need.
